Green Week: Spring 2022

Accordionists and tandem bicycles, knights and cardboard castles, bucket brigades and compost. BYU's first-ever Campus Green Week, (3/26-4/1) brought all kinds of fun surprises.

3/26: Cougar Cruise: Hit the road with Cosmo as we loop around campus on two wheels. Sponsored by the BYU Bicycle Committee, this fun bike ride will be followed by prizes, JDawgs, and games. 11am to 1pm at Fletcher Quad (between the WSC and the Clyde)

3/28: Mulch & Mingle: Spread cheer and compost with us as we beautify the nature trail behind LaVelle Edwards Stadium—a perfect FHE activity, with compostable snacks, of course. BYU stadium lot 49Y, 7pm

3/31: RecycleMania: This year's RecycleMania festivities include an art competition (submit your recyclable art by 3/21) and a giant cardboard castle on Brigham Square (volunteer). 10am to 2pm

4/1: BYU Sustainability Forum: Join BYU's Sustainability Office for presentations, discussion, and lunch. We'll also preview a new BYU exhibit on climate change. (RSVP.) Engineering Building room 204, 10am to noon

  • 10:00 a.m. – Welcome and introduction: Steve Hafen, Administration Vice President and CFO
  • 10:15 a.m. – Keynote address: George Handley, Professor of Interdisciplinary Humanities
  • 10:30 a.m. – Student panel: Sunni Begay, Elisabeth Curritt, Kate Lawrence, Nathan Thompson, Heidi Wilding
  • 11:00 a.m. –  Lunch and discussion. Moderators: Andrew South, Professor of Civil and Construction Engineering, and Rob Christensen, Professor of Public and Nonprofit Administration
